Annie Lennox
| Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name of her parents. Lennox went to Lennox's Royal Academy of Music, London in the 1970s. She studied the harpsichord as well as the flautist piano for 3 years. She survived on a student salary and part-time work to supplement her budget. When she was at the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance compared to her student classmates and she pondered what alternative route she could take. Lennox played flute in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. The band did not appear on the competition for talent New Faces on I.T.V. She was the lead singer to The Tourists (a British popband) from 1977-1980. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later join Eurythmics. Then, Lennox started working on her solo first album Diva and it was released in the year 1992. The album received a lot of praise, both by critics as well as the general public. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth album as a solo artist was released in October 2014. The C.D. Lennox picked her favorite blues and soul tunes. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox has released Lepidoptera which is a compilation of four piano pieces that she improvised. The E.P. She released her first solo album in conjunction with her art work in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled "Now I Let You go." Annie Lennox is a Scottish singer and songwriter who was born on the 25th of December 1954. Following a modest successes as a part of the new wave band The Tourists in the late 1970s she and fellow musician Dave Stewart went on to be recognized as the duo known as Eurythmics in the 1980s. Lennox started her solo career by releasing her debut album Diva in the year 1992. The album was the inspiration of many hits songs such as Walking in Broken Glass. Medusa an album from her studio, which was released in 1995, features songs that are re-imagined from her biggest hits, such as the No MoreI I Still Love Yous (and The Whiter Shade of Pale). Her solo studio albums as well as her compilation album include a number of hits. |
